Bovell III sets new national record

Trinidad and Tobago swimmer George Bovell III continued his steady progress to the medal rostrum at the London 2012 Olympics by setting a new national record of 55.65 seconds in the men’s 100 metres backstroke to place second in the B final of the 2012 Indy Grand Prix, in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA, on Saturday night.

Bovell was also second in the Championship final of the 50m freestyle, in 21.89 seconds. And he was first in the C final of the 100m freestyle in a time of 49.94.
