Nazarites reach SSCL quarter-finals

NAZARITES SPORTS stormed into the quarter-finals of the General Earth Movers-sponsored Southern Sports Sunday Cricket League Champions Division with a six-wicket victory over previously unbeaten Outsiders.

In the quarter-finals tomorrow, Nazarites will meet Reform Sports while Outsiders meet Gasparillo United, last season’s Champion Division winners.

Four batsmen struck centuries in the recent round with three-time centurion Adrian Mohammed just missing out with 96.

Jessie Narinesingh reached the highest individual score in Southern Sports this season. He made 150 while Brickfield United teammate Garvin Pascall reached 100.

Teenager Esa Mohammed scored 118 for Sugar Road Youths against Gandhi Rebels; Javed Mohammed reached 110 for La Fortune and Gary Nandlal scored 122 for Village Boys, but his team was beaten by 39 runs by Malgretoute.

In Division One, Sugar Road Youths continued their unbeaten run, exacting a 192-run drubbing on Gandhi Rebels, aided by Esa Mohammed’s century.

They now meet Amateurs Sports in a quarter-final match while Valley Line take on Mnalgretoute; Brickfield United play East Indians and Green Arrow meet Metronomes Sports.
