The Trinidad & Tobago Triathlon Federation hosted its first Try-A-Tri event on Sunday 22nd April 2018 at The National Aquatic Centre, Couva.

The event, which drew a large crowd of supporters, consisted of a tag team triathlon race with each member of the 4 person team

required to do the distance in each of the 3 disciplines (50m swim / 2.5k ride / 500m run).
The swim took place in the pool, the ride on a spin bike and the run was one lap around the Aquatic Centre.

It was a case of role reversal for some teams, which saw parents competing in the event being cheered on by their triathlete children.

Although it was a fun event for persons who had never  previously completed a triathlon, competition was fierce among the teams with RJR Team 1

( Richard Jones, Keanu Otero, Christian Scott and Elvis Turner) coming out on top.

The top 5 teams:

1st: RJR Team 1 : 28:56
2nd: OAW Team 1 : 30.08
3rd: OAW Team 4 : 30.55
4th: OAW Team 2 : 30.57
5th: RJR Team 2 : 31:00

The aim of the event was to raise awareness of the sport of triathlon, to  increase participation in the sport and to assist the Trinidad & Tobago Triathlon Federation to reach its financial targets for 2018.
