Wednesday April 5th will see the curtains come down on The 2017 School Girls Rugby League and a champion crowned in the season finale.
St James Secondary School will oppose Bishop Anstey High School’s B unit in the title decider after both teams came through impressive semi final wins last week.
In semi final one, Bishop’s B did their work with devastating effect against Providence Girls Catholic School, scoring three quick and early tries. Even though Providence were able to rectify their defensive frailty and get the ball into the scoring area themselves, it could not prevent a 17-5 defeat. Journee Cunningham scored 2 of Bishop’s tries with Arisa Romany scoring the other along with 1 conversion. Sumiyah Maule was the scorer for Providence.
Seeking to make it an all BAHS final, Bishop’s A team squared up against St James in semi final number 2. But St James’ speedy Pateia Paul made all the difference as the girls from the city that never sleeps shut out Bishop’s A 17-0. Paul, capitalising on the width offered by her opposition, scored all 3 of St James’ tries while Jade Husbands tacked on one conversion to book a showdown with Bishop’s B in Wednesday’s final.”

We look forward to your continued support for the finals!
