The T&T Cycling fraternity and fans are presently routing for our Elite Female cyclist Teniel Campbell presently in training with UCI Women’s WCC Team and representing at the 2019 Tour of Thailand. The Tour is a Three stage event which began on April 8th and ends on April 10th.
The First Stage was a 97km road race in Chiang Mai and finished in Chom Thong. There was a start list of 66 participants. The winner of this stage was Jutatip Maneephan of Thailand Women’s Cycling Team finishing in a Time of 2.18:354 with average speed of 41.90km/h, second place was Yumi Kajihara of Japan and Third place was the UCI WCC Women’s Team, Teniel Campbell. Teniel earned 8 points to add to her UCI credits
Day 2, 9th April, the highlights is sending shockwaves in the Caribbean with Teniel Campbell winning the second day’s race in fine style and almost without a sweat. A distance of 67km road race, Teniel was victorious over the main peleton in a time of 1.30:19 accumulating another 16 UCI points and her team mate Marlen Reusser of Switzerland gaining 11. Teniel now bags a total of 52 UCI points.
The Third and final stage takes place tomorrow and we wish her continued success. Congrats Teniel, continue to fly the flag high.
